SSS-1 ADCS flight model (FM) tests are undergoing COVID -19 pandemic do not stop ✋ developing activities of APSCO SSS project. Today Beihung University and SRL teams run several preparation test works. These works provided in ” MINO-SPACE” company tests room in Beijing/ China 🇨🇳.

The Progress Review Meeting on APSCO Student Small Satellite (SSS) Project was organized on 17-19 November, 2020, through a Teleconference. The Project Management Board (PMB), experts and officials from all Member States, project management team from APSCO Secretariat and project leading Universities and institutions participated in the meeting .
The aim of the meeting was, review of progress of the SSS project implantation and the work done by the satellite/subsystem teams as well as the subsequent works and its plan. Dr. Mehran Mirshams, SRL Director, gave a presentation on the progress of ADCS subsystem.
SSS-1 ADCS Flight Model(FM) latest status and future development steps were agreed by SRL and Beihang teams.

The 6th “Science for All” festival, together with ” Science for Peace and Development International Week”
The 6th “Science for All” festival, together with ” Science for Peace and Development International Week” will be carried on from 10 to 20 November 2020 in Tehran/Iran. This year because of Covide-19 pandemic, festival will be run online. SRL with introduction of two it’s new products, will participate in this year festival at ” Science Promoter’s” section.

The second activity of joint science outreach project between SRL and Mahani Observatory
The second activity of joint science outreach project between Space Research Labratory and Mahani Observatory is launched in from of student summer activity in Astronomy classes of summer shcool in Shahid Mahdavi educational complex in July 2020.
Respect to this project, students exposed to construction manual of a simple telescope, to enhance their day and night observational experiences. at the end of summer, the results will be assesssed in order to release certificate of participation, also best ones will recieve special rewards.
The SRL student team passed all the Nasir-1 CubeSat test engineering models
SRL student team has passed all the Engineering Models’ test of Nasir-1 CubeSat. In spite of Covid-19 limitations, and semester final exams, team has been working hard 😓 for two last weeks to overcome all the “Morphies law” surprises.
Iranian Space Agency’s experts who followed the process in site confirmed tests results. According to theirs announcement K.N.Toosi University’s CubeSat team is the first team among the 3 finalists teams who has finished the final competition phase, completed EM model and passed all tests successfully.

According to the project time line Nasir-1 Engineering Model EM functional tests has to be finish by the end of June 2020. CubeSat team is working hard 😓 nowadays to overcome this milestone.
Iranian Space Agency (ISA) experts will be with us in next Sunday and Saturday.

The Toosi constellation team got third place in the satellite constellation design competition
The competition-based event “Satellite Constellation Design Challenge” with the support of the Iranian Space Agency and the Iranian Space Research Center, was held from October 2019 to May 2020 With a focus on Earth monitoring and observation, communication network and local navigation.
16 teams from different universities from all over the country participated in the competition which was hold in the conceptual design level.
The team of Toosi Constellation consisted of 8 students from the Faculty of Aerospace of the K.N.Toosi University of Technology, who joined the challenge and presented a plan about ” Creating Smart Maritime Satellite Communications Network” using satellite constellations and the team finished third in the competition.

The closing ceremony of the competition-based event “Satellite Constellation Design Challenge” with the support of the Iranian Space Agency and the Iranian Space Research Center, with the participation of 16 teams from different universities will be held as a webinar.
the Toosi Constellation Team will present their project within this ceremony, which is “Conceptual Design of a Satellite constellation toward the creation of a Smart Maritime communication Network.”
The team of Toosi Constellation consists of 8 students from the Faculty of Aerospace of Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology. The team has entered the scientific and competitive field to launch a startup with the help of experts in the fields of system design, mission analysis, and constellation orbit design, as well as business planning.
