Future Generation Development Program

//Future Generation Development Program

Future generation development is one the priority areas for SRL. With the development of society and economy, space science and technology has an important role in our daily life, as mankind benefits from it and relys on it. cultivating younger generation’s interest in space science and technology and developing potential future space leaders in the Iran, is envisaged in this regard, SRL has organized several prestigious activities and plans to continue with similar activities in the future as a continuous set of Science School as followings.

1- Iranian National Museum of Science and Technology
2- School Space Lab.
3- School General Sessions
4- Einstein Schools

3- School General Sessions

One of the long-term objectives of the lab is to level up the young generation especially students’ space knowledge. Accordingly, one of the main areas of the Space Research Laboratory’s activity is to promote the space concepts and discussions among the students before entering into university. Such training courses have been running since more than 5 years ago entitled “Training Workshop for Introduction to the Space Science and Technology”. A group of graduate students and graduates of Master Degree are employed to hold the workshops; so the courses are of very high efficiency. Some 350 workshops have already been held; and more than 30 educational center and 1500 students have been enjoyed the laboratory’s facilities.

4- Einstein Schools

The IAU Einstein Schools project encourages an understanding of the role of gravity in modern astronomy through the exciting topics of gravity, gravity waves, space-time, and the detection of gravity waves emitted from compact objects such as black holes and neutron stars. The project also considers how gravity can bend star light and how this bending can be detected during a solar eclipse. On the largest scales, the bending of starlight from galaxies or clusters of galaxies can also lead to an understanding of dark matter.
In the Einstein Schools project, schools around the world do activities about gravity in astronomy that relate to the topics listed above. They also learn how the 1919 total solar eclipse confirmed Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity and how the predictions from the theory of General Relativity can be verified during the upcoming eclipses in Chile. The Einstein schools worldwide will also be working together to make robotic telescope observations of gravitational lenses and other exciting objects affected by extreme gravity. The Einstein schools will also have the the opportunity to connect to Chilean and Argentinian Einstein schools and programs during the July 2, 2019 total solar eclipse.
Companies can sponsor Einstein Schools in their area to help them get additional educational resources from the project.
